We are now seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher Educator to join our forward‑thinking and high‑performing Teacher Education Department as part of our Teaching & Learning Academy.
Our department offers a well‑established suite of initial teacher education programmes and professional development pathways. Through our strong partnership with UCLan, trainee teachers access a rich range of CPD, collaborative learning, and opportunities to develop high‑level pedagogical expertise.
As a Lecturer in Teacher Education, you will:
Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Levels 3–7
Inspire and support trainee teachers to achieve their academic and professional potential
Contribute to the planning, development and review of programmes within the department
Model outstanding practice in pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment
Provide effective academic guidance and pastoral support
Participate in departmental quality processes, including self‑assessment and curriculum review
Contribute to the wider work of the College through events, open evenings and cross‑College initiatives
For Lecturer B responsibilities, additional duties include curriculum leadership, mentoring staff, contributing to marketing and admissions, and leading the organisation of significant courses or subject areas.
We are seeking an educator who:
Demonstrates excellence in teaching and learning with at least 2 years’ teaching experience and a strong track record of student success
Brings expertise in FE pedagogy and current educational practice
Uses innovative approaches, including eLearning and digital technologies
Shows strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Has the ability to deliver with academic rigour including the potential to deliver up to Level 7
Has a Master’s degree (desirable) — or a willingness to work towards one
Holds a relevant degree or vocational qualification and a recognised full teaching qualification
Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
Is passionate about shaping the next generation of teachers
