Learning Support Assistant – Primary | Secondary | SEN School

We have schools in the Redhill area that are urgently seeking highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSA) for a rewarding temporary-to-permanent position at a specialist school. This role is specifically designed for supporting secondary school age groups with complex needs (including autism and physical disabilities). Secure your long-term career path with this full-time, Monday to Friday opportunity (part-time offerings also!). It offers excellent training and support for professionals passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEN).

The Role : Specialist SEN Support

  • Setting: Specialist school focused on complex needs education for young adults.
  • Focus: Providing direct learning and behavioural support alongside experienced teaching staff.
  • Key Needs: Commitment to supporting students with complex needs, autism, and physical disabilities. Experience with challenging behaviour is beneficial.
  • Hours: Full-time or Part-time
  • Path to Permanent: Successful completion of a 12-week temporary period leads directly to a permanent contract.

Essential Candidate Requirements

To ensure success and rapid placement, candidates must meet the following criteria :

  • DBS Status: Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS Check (Child and Adult).
  • Availability: Must be able to commit to full-time hours or part-time hours. Immediately available candidates preferred.
  • Teamwork: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to integrate effectively into a specialist team.
  • Transport: A driving license is highly recommended due to the school’s location and public transport constraints.
  • Commitment: Genuine passion for and commitment to working with young adults with SEN and complex needs.
