Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across Southampton primary schools. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group assistance, helping with learning, development and wellbeing.

Ideal candidates will have experience in primary education and knowledge of SEND needs, with strong communication and teamwork skills. The position is full-time, term-time style across multiple schools in the Southampton area.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a primary school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND (autism, ADHD, speech and language needs).
  • Patient, caring and proactive approach to helping children succeed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about helping children thrive in their education? Do you have the skills and experience to support pupils with their learning, development, and wellbeing? We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dedicated team across Southampton primary schools.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting activities to meet diverse needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, inclusion, and personal development.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to promote progress and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience working in a primary school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of supporting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach to helping children succeed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable.

Location: Primary schools across Southampton

Contract: Full-time, term time only
