Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a KS1 setting in Southampton. This full-time role offers term-time hours (08:30–15:30) with immediate start and daily pay between £85-£95.

You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them build confidence and independence within a caring school community. Ideal candidates have experience with children, strong literacy/numeracy, good communication, and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational settings is desirable.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to support pupils of varying abilities.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with English and Maths interventions.
• Work with children on 1:1 and small group basis.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities.
• Supervise pupils in and around the school environment.
• Support children with additional needs where required.
• Help track and support pupil progress.
