Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Somerset (BA12). This full-time, temporary role starts in September, supporting pupils with learning needs in class and one-to-one settings to access learning and build independence.

The position offers competitive hourly pay (£14.25–£15.50) and access to CPD courses, with onboarding support from TeacherActive and a referral scheme. A caring, patient approach and strong teamwork are essential.

Overview

We are looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) from September on a temporary basis. The successful LSA will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop independence, while providing both classroom and one-to-one support where required.

Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant you will support pupils with additional needs in a specialist SEND school, ensuring their learning is tailored to individual needs and they can achieve their full potential. You will provide classroom and one-to-one support, facilitate activities, maintain a positive learning environment and collaborate with teachers and support staff.
