Job description

As part of the Learning Resources Centre team, you will be involved in:

Responsibilities
  • Front line support: Be the friendly face at the enquiry desk, helping with everything from book loans to IT troubleshooting.
  • Resource champion: Promote our collections, both physical and digital, and guide students to the right tools for success.
  • Tech helper: Support students with printing, software and online learning platforms.
  • Inclusive support: Assist learners with disabilities or additional needs to access facilities fully.
  • Behind the scenes: Keep our shelves tidy, process new stock, prepare displays and ensure resources are up to date.
  • Safe & supportive environment: Supervise the learning resources centre, encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a space conducive to study.
Qualifications
  • Education/experience: Level 3 qualification or library experience.
  • Skills: Strong IT knowledge (Microsoft, databases, VLEs), excellent communication, and a professional manner.
  • Team player: Collaborative, adaptable, confident in a busy environment.
  • Understanding: Awareness of equality, diversity, safeguarding, GDPR, and the needs of learners in further education.
