Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Mentor to join our Alternative Provision team in Launceston. You will work one-on-one with young people with SEMH needs, delivering tailored learning and helping rebuild their confidence in education.

Responsibilities include delivering community-based education, supporting GCSE English and Maths, tracking progress, and using trauma-informed strategies to re-engage students in a flexible, long-term role in the Launceston area.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
• Strong working knowledge of GCSE English and Maths curriculum.
• Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.
• Excellent communication and emotional resilience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver community-based education tailored to the young person’s interests.
• Plan and deliver targeted GCSE English and Maths support.
• Build trust and re-engage young people using trauma-informed approaches.
• Track emotional wellbeing, attendance and academic milestones.
