Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Mentor for our Alternative Provision team in Launceston. You will work one-on-one with young people with SEMH needs, delivering tailored learning and building core skills in non-traditional settings.

You will travel in the local community, support GCSE English and Maths, monitor progress, and apply trauma-informed approaches. Full UK driving license and a flexible, long-term full-time role with ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
• Strong working knowledge of GCSE English and Maths.
• Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Community-Based Education: work out in the local community to create engaging, non-traditional learning environments.
• Core Subject Support: plan and deliver targeted support for GCSE English and Maths.
• Build Trust & Confidence: use trauma-informed approaches to re-engage young people.
• Track Progress: monitor emotional wellbeing, attendance, and academic milestones.
