Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Mentor to support learners in an Alternative Provision setting in the Launceston area. You will work one-on-one with young people to deliver tailored learning, build core skills and restore confidence in education.

The role focuses on community-based education, GCSE English and Maths support, and trauma-informed approaches to re-engage students with SEMH needs. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
• Strong working knowledge of GCSE English and Maths curriculum.
• Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.
• High emotional intelligence, patience, boundary-setting, and excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Community-Based Education in the local community.
• Provide targeted GCSE English and Maths support to learners.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to re-engage learners.
• Monitor wellbeing, attendance, and progress, adjusting approach as needed.
