Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Learning Mentor for its Alternative Provision in Launceston. You will work in the community with young people facing SEMH challenges, delivering non-traditional learning and building essential skills to boost confidence and engagement.

You will support GCSE English and Maths, travel to community sites, and use trauma-informed strategies to re-engage learners while tracking progress and wellbeing. Driving is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
• Strong working knowledge of GCSE English and Maths curriculum.
• Full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Community-Based Education: work in the local community to create engaging, non-traditional learning environments.
• Core Subject Support: plan and deliver targeted GCSE English and Maths support to build essential foundations.
• Build Trust & Confidence: act as a positive role model using trauma-informed approaches to re-engage learners.
• Track Progress: monitor wellbeing, attendance and milestones, adapting approach as needed.
