Vision for Education in Birmingham is seeking a Learning Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs. The role focuses on providing classroom support, delivering targeted interventions, and acting as a positive role model to help learners build confidence and resilience.
You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff in a specialist SEMH setting, contributing to a safe, supportive learning environment and long-term opportunities that may lead to permanent placement.

Learning Mentors are required to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist Birmingham school. This rewarding role is ideal for resilient, proactive and positive individuals who can build strong relationships, promote engagement and help young people overcome barriers to learning.
Kitts Green Academy is a specialist SEMH provision supporting boys aged 6–16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in education. The school is looking to appoint dedicated Learning Mentors to work closely with pupils who need additional support to regulate emotions, develop positive behaviours and engage successfully in learning.
Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and senior leaders, you will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions and act as a positive role model for pupils. You will help learners develop confidence, resilience and the social skills needed to achieve success both in school and beyond.
This role is particularly suited to candidates from youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, residential support, military or education backgrounds. Your ability to build trust, remain calm under pressure and support positive outcomes will be key to your success.
This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
