Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting a Learning Mentor to work across specialist education settings in the Dursley (GL11) area. This role supports pupils with SEND/SEMH, autism, ADHD and other needs, with training provided before starting.

The position offers full-time, part-time or flexible opportunities and hourly pay of £14.24–£15.50+. Experience in education, care, youth work or mentoring is welcome, and you’ll join schools committed to inclusive learning with strong pupil wellbeing.

About the Learning Mentor Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, including those with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD and other learning or behavioural needs.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
• Encouraging engagement both inside and outside the classroom
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
• Working alongside teachers and support staff to deliver personalised support
• Building positive relationships that help pupils achieve their full potential

Training & Development

Requirements

To be considered for this Learning Mentor role, you should:

• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people
• Be patient, reliable and resilient
• Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Be willing to learn and develop professionally
• Be able to provide suitable references
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
• Have the Right to Work in the UK

Experience in education, care, coaching, youth work, mentoring or support work is desirable but not essential.
