Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a caring Learning Mentor to join a friendly primary school in Birmingham from September. You will work with pupils requiring additional support, providing guidance inside and outside the classroom to help them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The role involves mentoring individuals and small groups, promoting positive behaviour, and working closely with teachers, parents and support staff to track progress and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school setting or similar environment.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions.

Location: Birmingham

Start Date: September

Pay: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Learning Mentor Required - September Start

Aspire People is seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Birmingham from September.

This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with pupils who require additional support, providing guidance both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and engagement.
• Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and parents to support pupil progress.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children in a primary school, childcare, youth work, mentoring, or a similar setting.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's wellbeing and development.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
