A professional development firm in St Albans is seeking a Learning & Development Senior Manager to design and manage training programmes across all staff levels. The successful candidate will have proven strategic Learning & Development experience within an accountancy practice or law firm, alongside strong leadership and communication skills. Additionally, they should possess excellent project management abilities and a strong academic background. Disclaimer: This role will be suitable for someone with a solid background in L&D gained within an accountancy practice or law firm only. It is working in a stand‑alone position and so would not suit someone who has worked with a large team or on a global basis.
Lead the design, delivery, and management of training programmes that build skills and knowledge across all staff levels.
Collaborate with managers, partners, and HR to identify training needs and set clear development priorities.
Create and update engaging training resources, including videos, presentations, and written materials, and maintain the firm’s training calendar.
Oversee post-qualification training by coordinating with training partners / directors to source and organise technical learning.
Support trainee staff and school leavers through tailored development programmes, while identifying high-potential individuals and creating personalised growth plans.
Proven experience in strategic Learning & Development gained within an accountancy practice or law firm is essential.
Strong leadership, influencing, and project management skills.
Strong strategic and creative learning and development experience.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Results-driven, with a track record of delivering outcomes through others.
A recognised accountancy qualification would be a strong advantage but a strong academic background is essential.
