Purpose of the role
Are you passionate about developing people and driving impactful learning initiatives? Colas is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Partner to join our HR Support Services team. Based at our Head Office in Solihull (B37 7YB), with UK travel required, you will be key in delivering our training strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting growth across all organizational levels.
This role offers a chance to shape learning at Colas, working with internal stakeholders and external partners to build capability and support career development.
Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize training needs, manage training requests, and maintain accurate training records. Support the implementation of the L&D strategy, including designing and delivering leadership and management development programs. Evaluate training effectiveness, manage relationships with training providers, and oversee contracts and SLAs. Support apprenticeship and graduate programs, including recruitment, onboarding, audits, and budgets. Maintain training matrices aligned with the Learning Management System and contribute to continuous improvement of L&D processes, systems, and policies.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum CIPD Level 3 qualification in Learning and Development and proven experience in a consultative or specialist L&D role are required. Candidates should understand the full learning cycle and talent development strategies, with strong organizational and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems, with experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, is essential. Knowledge of apprenticeships, funding, and industry training standards is desirable. Experience in construction or industrial sectors is an advantage but not essential.
