Job description

Key roles:

  • To be a full-time member of staff at Yarlet School. This involves being at school between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. Whilst the length of day is longer at Yarlet, candidates should note that there are 17 weeks paid holiday per year, a reduced administrative workload, excellently behaved pupils and a generous allocation of non‑contact time.
  • To be the Class Teacher for pupils in Year 4 which involves taking on typical pastoral responsibilities as well as delivering core areas of the curriculum. (Art and DT, French, Humanities, Music and PE are taught by specialist members of staff.)
  • To be the Teacher of Mathematics for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6.

Person Specification:

The successful candidate will be flexible, well organised, energetic, creative and willing to go the ‘extra mile’. They will be focused on enabling all pupils to achieve to the best of their ability in all areas and will never accept mediocrity or underachievement. They will have excellent teaching skills and be able to apply a range of adaptive teaching strategies to enable pupils of all abilities to make good progress. They will be positive, open minded, team spirited, hardworking and be ready to develop and learn professionally.
