Job summary

Nationwide Platforms in Birmingham is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to support the Location Service Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy workshop. You will help ensure 100% servicing coverage for our hire fleet and carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) at depot or on site as needed.

You will organise engineers’ workload, produce monthly inspection reports, identify training needs for workshop staff, respond to customer breakdowns, and uphold safety and quality policies while delivering

Qualifications

Supervisory experience in a busy workshop.
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in maintenance/engineering.
Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
Experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is desirable.
Good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

Assist the Location Service Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy workshop.
Ensure 100% coverage for servicing and maintenance of the hire fleet.
Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine at depot or on site as required.
Produce monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules; organise workload of engineers.
Maintain the fleet appearance to corporate standards.
Offer guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
Locate spares ensuring CE rating where applicable is not compromised.
Follow Quality and Health and Safety policy guidelines.
Maintain basic stock control for workshop spares.
Identify training and development needs of workshop personnel.
Support depot engineers with technical help and advice.
