Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Widnes is seeking a Workshop Supervisor (HGV) to lead a busy depot workshop. You will supervise technicians and apprentices, allocate work by skill, and monitor attendance and performance.

You will plan daily workflows, schedule repairs, and ensure work meets manufacturer or company standards while liaising with service advisors, parts teams and fleet customers. A strong focus on training and development is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/C&G Level 3 or equivalent in motor vehicle repairs.
• Time served technician with supervisory experience.
• Experience in MOT preparation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians, apprentices and workshop staff.
• Allocate work based on skill level and priorities.
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance.
• Conduct toolbox talks and one-to-one meetings.
• Support training and development.
• Plan daily workflow and schedule repairs.
• Ensure work is completed on time to standards.
• Manage workshop capacity and resource allocation.
• Liaise with service advisors, parts and fleet customers.
• Monitor work-in-progress and remove bottlenecks.
