Job summary

Nationwide Platforms in the UK is seeking a Workshop Service Engineer to inspect, repair and maintain our powered access equipment in a busy depot workshop. Training will be provided and candidates with mechanical/electrical engineering experience are welcomed.

The role involves pre-delivery inspections, on-site repair, planned maintenance and handover to customers, with a focus on safe operation and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

• Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Mature, capable of prioritising tasks and working under pressure.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Location Service Manager in the depot workshop.
• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at client premises and at depot.
• Repair machines at depot or on site to ensure conformance with manufacturer specifications and company policy.
• Complete planned maintenance activities including keeping the fleet to corporate standard.
• Hand over machines to customers and familiarise them with safe operation.
• Accurately complete all relevant paperwork including engineer’s reports, off-hire, pre/delivery inspections and service sheets.
• Update system on machine status changes (PDI carried out, machine under repair, 6 monthly inspections).
