We provide a wide range of courses for Coventry residents age 19+ and much of our provision is targeted at people with the highest levels of need.We offer long courses in English, maths, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), ICT/Digital and vocational subjects such as Early Years, along with provision for adults with learning disabilities. We also offer a very wide range of short community courses in arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, fitness and family learning. In addition, we run a highly supportive study programme for young people.Our work-based learning offer includes Apprenticeships in the following subject areas:Nursery WorkersTeaching AssistantsLeadership/Management; andCustomer Care.We also provide courses for adults who are seeking work via the Council’s Job Shop.Our main base is at Southfields Old School, CV1 5EJ, with provision delivered at around 25 other sites within Coventry, mostly in areas of highest need.We welcome applications from anyone who wants to make a difference to the lives of people in Coventry. What is the job role?We are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Tutor to join our Skills, Employment & Adult Education Service. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) adult learning programmes that support learners to achieve their personal, educational, and employment goals. In addition to teaching high quality ESOL sessions yourself, you’ll lead curriculum delivery, manage a small team, mentor other tutors, coordinate high quality learner support and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement. This role will have a particular focus on the area of learner support and inclusion through enabling the team to break down barriers to learning and coordinating learning support assistant, volunteer and wrap around support for learners. This role will also have a strong focus on quality through activities such as conducting and coordinating learning walks, collecting and collating learner feedback and case studies, leading IQA sessions and contributing to team learning and development. If you’re committed to inclusive education, have strong ESOL teaching experience, and enjoy supporting others to thrive, we’d love to hear from you. This is a full-time permanent community-based role. Travel between learning sites is standard for the role. Our delivery is year-round and this is not a term time only role/position. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK.
