Responsibilities
  • Engage with internal and external customers and technologists to lead and drive the support technology strategy.
  • Capture requirements and use cases that drive innovation and technology exploitation for business benefit.
  • Identify funding opportunities across the business for research and develop exciting proposals for technology development programmes.
  • Generate collaborative programmes and identify opportunities for funding with key external partners, suppliers, and SMEs.
  • Interface between BAE Systems and external research organisations on support technology research.
  • Utilise cloud infrastructure and digital technology development approaches.
  • Insert technology capability from concept through to deployment.
  • Collaboration, willingness to embrace innovative approaches and constructively challenge the status‑quo.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Programming (e.g., Python) experience.
  • Awareness of civil aircraft operations.
  • Knowledge/experience of working in a DevSecOps development framework.
  • Awareness of AI approaches and techniques.
Security & Vetting

Many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions can limit eligibility based on nationality, former nationalities, and place of birth. All applicants must at a minimum achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Some roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting, typically 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency.

Compensation

Salary: £56,766+ depending on skills and experience. Competitive pension scheme, employee share plans, flexible health benefits, green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts. Eligible for an annual incentive.
