Job summary

A leading electronic systems and manufacturing company in the UK is seeking a Lead SMT Production Engineer to oversee the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and will be responsible for operating and setting up SMT machinery, troubleshooting production issues, and managing component storage. This role offers a salary of up to £40,000, depending on experience, within a dynamic and impactful work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar SMT production role or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating design stencil machines, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and AOI testing machines.
• Troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues to ensure smooth production flow.
• Collaborating closely with manufacturers and final assembly teams to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Manage component purchase and storage whilst adhering to specifications.
• Ensure conventional component and manual soldering procedures comply with IPC-A-610 standards.
