Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Small Craft Surveyor - Naval Architect based in Aberdeen. You will survey and inspect small and non-convention vessels to ensure compliance with UK and international safety, security and environmental standards, issue certification, and advise vessel owners and industry colleagues.

Responsibilities

• As directed by the Technical Manager or Principal Marine Surveyor, provide training to Marine Surveyor colleagues on MCA Survey and Inspection activities.
• Carry out surveys for small/non-convention vessels, issue statutory certificates, provide advice to the public and colleagues, approve ship plans, investigate complaints.
• Carry out inspections of small/non-convention vessels and port installations to ensure compliance with UK and international standards.
• Advise industry and the public per MCA policies, act as a point of contact for communications with vessel owners, contribute to a high-quality survey and inspection service.
• Maintain training and competence records, complete development opportunities to uphold competence and integrity.
