You will train colleagues, lead survey efforts in non-complex cases, and contribute to consistent service delivery across MCA maritime services within a customer-focused framework.

Responsibilities

• Train or coach Marine Surveyor colleagues on MCA S&I activities to ensure consistent implementation
• Carry out surveys leading to statutory certificates for small vessels; act as lead surveyor in most cases and issue certification
• Inspect small vessels and port installations to ensure compliance with international conventions and UK requirements
• Provide MCA policy guidance and be the primary contact for technically related communications with vessel owners
• Maintain training and competence records to ensure ongoing skill and impartiality
