Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Small Craft Surveyor (Naval Architect) in Lerwick. Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach Marine Surveyor colleagues on MCA Survey & Inspection activities to ensure consistent application of MCA standards.
• Lead surveys and inspections for small/non-convention vessels, issue statutory certificates, and advise vessel owners and public.
• Inspect vessels and port installations to ensure compliance with international conventions and UK requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to industry and stakeholders, supporting a high-quality survey service.
• Maintain training and competence records, pursue MCA development opportunities to uphold integrity and impartiality.
