Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Small Craft Surveyor with Naval Architect expertise to survey and inspect small and non-convention vessels, ensuring compliance with UK and international standards. Qualifications

• Genuine expertise in small craft surveying and naval architecture is required.
• Ability to train, coach and mentor colleagues on MCA Survey & Inspection activities.
• Experience issuing statutory certificates for small vessels and interpreting safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead surveys and inspections of small/non-conventional vessels, issuing certificates as required.
• Provide expert technical advice to vessel owners and industry colleagues.
• Advise on ship plans, investigate complaints and witness stability measurements.
• Maintain training and competence records; participate in MCA peer reviews.
