Job summary

The Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Small Craft Surveyor — Naval Architect in Paignton to join the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s team. You will survey and inspect small and non-convention vessels, issue certification, and provide expert technical advice to vessel owners and industry colleagues to maintain high standards of safety and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Training or coaching Marine Surveyor colleagues on MCA Survey and Inspection activities to ensure consistent application of MCA standards.
• Lead surveyor in surveys for small/non-convention vessels, issue statutory certificates, provide advice, approve ship plans, investigate complaints, and witness stability measurements.
