BioDevek is a medical device startup developing GastroShield, a sprayable hydrogel designed to control gastrointestinal bleeding and accelerate healing. Our mission is to make minimally invasive procedures safer and faster through advanced biomaterial innovation.

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on Lead Polymer Scientist to drive the development of our hydrogel adhesive platform. You will be the technical lead for all aspects of polymer synthesis, characterization, and optimization — working closely with internal and external teams to advance our product through preclinical, regulatory, and manufacturing milestones.

This role is ideal for an industry-experienced polymer chemist with a deep understanding of crosslinking systems, hydrogel design, analytical methods, and stability studies preferably within the medical device or pharmaceutical sector.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in polymer design, synthesis, and characterization
  • Strong background in biomaterials and biocompatibility
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scientific report writing
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, MA
  • PhD in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in the medical device industry is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ideal Candidate Will Also Have

  • Experience working under ISO 13485 or FDA QSR.
  • Exposure to design control and tech transfer to manufacturing.
