Job summary

National Highways is recruiting an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes to keep the strategic road network safe and reliable for customers.

You will support asset studies, develop early renewal solutions, and provide technical briefs to contractors while coordinating with project teams and third parties across the region.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes.
• Support asset studies and survey works, prioritising needs to keep assets in serviceable condition.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors for improvement and renewals.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers with materials approvals, contractor vetting, on-site inspections and Health and Safety File reviews.
• Coordinate works across the South East region with project teams and third parties.
