Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team within the Operations Directorate in the South East region. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes to ensure the SRN safely meets customer needs now and in the future.

You will support planning and development, coordinate with project teams and third parties, and help identify early solutions for renewals, drafting technical briefs for contractors and assisting with approvals and site

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015 requirements.
• Experience working with project teams and external parties.
• Membership of a professional Body (desirable) or working towards Membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes to support the SRN.
• Coordinate works across the region with project teams and third parties.
• Develop early solutions for renewals and improvements with options and costs.
• Provide technical briefs to design and construction contractors and assist with materials approvals and site inspections.
