Lead Pavement Renewal Engineer

Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team within the South East region. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes, ensuring the SRN meets safety and performance standards for customers now and in the future.

The role involves supporting planning, coordinating across stakeholders, and providing technical briefs for design/construction contractors, with site inspection and H&S file reviews as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Membership of professional Body (desirable) or working towards Membership.
• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes across the SRN.
• Support planning and development, identifying early solutions for pavement assets.
• Coordinate works across the region with project teams and third parties.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Provide materials approvals, vetting of contractors' compliance, inspection support on site, and review Health and Safety Files.
