Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes, coordinating with project teams and third parties to ensure safety and compliance with standards across the SRN.

You will support early solution development, produce technical briefs for contractors, and provide on-site support including materials approvals and inspections, while aligning with asset strategies and CDM2015

Qualifications

Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
CDM 2015 knowledge and application.
Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes for the SRN.
Support the activities and resources involved in the identification and development of early solutions for the pavement asset.
Coordinate works across the region with project teams and third parties.
Provide technical support to Project Managers and assist with materials approvals, vetting of contractors' compliance, and site inspections.
Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors for improvement and renewals work.
Review Health and Safety Files and ensure adherence to asset class strategies, policies and standards.
