Job summary

A leading medical device manufacturer in the UK is seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to lead a team and ensure production uptime. Responsibilities include maintenance of electrical and mechanical machinery and compliance with Health and Safety standards. Ideal candidates will have a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship, strong leadership skills, and experience in an automated environment. This role offers a rotating 24-hour shift pattern.

Job description

Cure Talent are excited to partner with a thriving UK Medical Device Manufacturing Company in their search for a Lead Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding Engineering Department.

As the new Lead Maintenance Engineer, you will take on a hands-on leadership role, heading up a team of Engineers working on a rotating shift pattern. You will provide both electrical and mechanical support for production machinery across the site, while also leading a team of two Engineers on your shift. This role is critical in ensuring production uptime, driving best practices, and maintaining compliance with Health and Safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of Engineers on shift, providing guidance, support, and hands-on expertise
  • Fault finding, repair, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical production machinery
  • Conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and ensuring schedules are met
  • Installing and upgrading electrical circuitry while supporting mechanical breakdowns as required
  • Driving Health and Safety compliance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Key Requirements
  • Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Strong engineering background both electrically and mechanically
  • Proven team leadership experience in an automated production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Solid knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and downtime management
Hours of Work

Rotating 24-hour shift pattern:

  • 2 Days Working, 2 Days Off, 2 Nights Working, 2 Days Off
