Ready to lead engineering excellence at one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects? Want to shape the future of nuclear energy and help Britain achieve net zero? At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lifting and Handling Engineer to lead the technical aspects of the design, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and safety case development of cranes and lifting equipment, together with fuel handling equipment, within a highly regulated environment. This role is critical to ensuring safe and compliant lifting operations across complex projects involving radioactive materials, hazardous environments, or sensitive assets. You will be responsible for providing expert engineering support, leading safety case development, and ensuring compliance with national and international standards. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including safety engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies. The role will include technical management of key issues, supervising a team of lifting and handling engineers.
This is a hybrid role based at Gloucester Business Park with flexibility to work from home – though you’ll be expected in the office at least three days a week. This is your chance to work at the forefront of complex engineering challenges that safeguard people and assets.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
Alongside a competitive salary, potential for an annual bonus, and a market‑leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
