Job summary

Stantec in London is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer progressing towards Senior level. You will deliver geotechnical projects from ground investigations through design, reporting and construction support within a multidisciplinary team.

You will develop your technical and commercial skills, engage with clients, manage tasks, and contribute to fee proposals while ensuring high-quality outcomes in line with standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering within a consultancy environment.
• Experience planning, specifying and managing ground investigations, including coordination of subcontractors, in-situ testing, laboratory testing and monitoring programmes.
• Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, ground models and interpretation of field/lab data.
• Good working knowledge of British Standards, Eurocode 7, industry guidance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience preparing geotechnical deliverables and reviewing reports.
• Experience designing geotechnical solutions (foundations, slope stability, earthworks, ground improvement).

Responsibilities

• Plan, specify and manage ground investigations and testing programmes.
• Develop and interpret ground models from field and lab data.
• Produce geotechnical design reports, earthworks specs and construction-phase advice.
• Support project planning, resource management and financial performance.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to their development.
• Review technical outputs and provide guidance to project teams.
• Support construction-phase activities and review contractor proposals.
