Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across lifecycle for water/wastewater projects in the UK. You’ll oversee MCCs, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA, ensuring designs meet current standards and client requirements.

You will mentor graduates and engineers, work with multidisciplinary teams, and travel to sites as needed while collaborating with commercial and construction teams to deliver safe,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and chartered status (ICE/IMEchE).
• Experience on water/wastewater projects and related standards.
• Ability to lead electrical design across lifecycle.
• Strong communication with teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to sites and offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning and execution of electrical engineering on projects (MCCs, LV, cabling, instrumentation, SCADA).
• Provide design support and ensure compliance with standards and legislation.
• Challenge client specifications and defend solutions for complex problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery, develop standard designs and digital tools.
• Act as technical checker and conduct cross-team reviews of project documents.
