Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across water treatment projects in the UK. You’ll contribute from concept through commissioning, working with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative, buildable solutions. You’ll need a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered status or equivalent, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated engineer with a professional institution.
• Experience with water/wastewater projects and high quality outputs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team and stakeholders.
• Methodical problem solving and proactive/pragmatic approach.
• Proficient in delivering results within short timeframes.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment.
• Produce and review technical specifications and procurement schedules.
• Challenge Client specifications and defend solutions to complex problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery with standard designs and digital tools.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and perform reviews.
• Manage interfaces between design and other disciplines.
• Collaborate with engineers, specialists, and project teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Work with commercial and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions throughout lifecycle.
• Mentor Graduates and Engineers to develop their knowledge and skills.
• Engage with client relationships and foster a one-team approach.
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
