Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to shape electrical design across water treatment projects from concept to commissioning. You will work on Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, Cabling, Instrumentation, Industrial Networks, PLCs and SCADA, ensuring designs meet client and industry standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor graduates, and travel to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (ICE/IMe chE) or equivalent experience
• Experience with water or wastewater projects
• Experience delivering high quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Methodical approach to problem solving
• Proactive and pragmatic approach
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment (MC Cs, LV distribution, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA)
• Produce and review specifications and procurement schedules
• Contribute to design standards and challenge client specifications as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery with standard designs and digital tools
• Act as technical checker on project documents and reviews
• Manage interfaces between design disciplines and documentation
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams
• Mentor graduates and engineers to develop skills
• Engage with client relationships and adopt a one-team approach
• Conduct site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems
