Job summary

National Highways is expanding its Digital Services Directorate with a hybrid Lead Service Manager role. The post focuses on delivering strategic outcomes via DevSecOps within Infrastructure & Platforms, balancing budget responsibilities, governance artifacts, and cloud compute roadmaps for ready-to-hand over services.

The role requires strong commercial acumen and experience leading agile delivery teams, with two office days per week across National Highways locations in the UK.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of cloud compute hyper-scalers (e.g. MS Azure, Amazon AWS).
• Proven ability to manage a DevSecOps delivery team to achieve sprint velocity and business outcomes.
• Outstanding understanding of Agile and ADO principles and processes and applying them in projects.
• Demonstrated ability to influence team dynamics and drive collaboration.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead the DevSecOps practice and manage budget for this area and for the managed services contract.
• Prepare governance artifacts and influence cloud compute roadmaps for infrastructure and platforms.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from scoping through funding, governance, and handover to BAU.
