Job summary

Village Hotels in Portsmouth is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader and Chef de Partie to own a section on shift and support the brigade. You’ll ensure quality, temperature, and presentation of dishes leaving the pass, while coaching junior staff and maintaining brand standards.

You’ll drive food safety, manage stock to par levels, minimise waste, and contribute to a positive, busy kitchen culture with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience as CDP or senior CDP in a busy kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP compliance.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop junior kitchen staff.
• Excellent time management during peak service.

Responsibilities

• Run your own kitchen section as a hands-on Chef de Partie and support the wider brigade.
• Ensure portion control, accurate plating, and timely service under pressure.
• Uphold food safety standards, temperature controls, and brand delivery.
• Coach junior staff and Kitchen Porters, maintaining a safe, respectful environment.
• Protect gross profit through stock control and waste minimisation.
