Job summary

Village Hotels – Cardiff is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader and Chef de Partie to bridge the Head Chef’s strategy with a busy service. You’ll own your section, mentor juniors, and keep plates passing the pass to exact quality, temperature, and presentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Chef de Partie running your own section and supporting the wider brigade.
• Strong focus on food safety and brand delivery; HACCP and temperature checks.
• Supervising and coaching junior kitchen team members and Kitchen Porters.
• Stock management to par levels and minimal wastage; documentation for stock take.

Responsibilities

• The Kitchen Floor: run your own section flawlessly while controlling the flow of work and assisting others when busy.
• The Standards: ensure temperature checked deliveries and adherence to FRESH specifications, HACCP and EHO directives.
• The Brigade: supervise juniors and porters; translate strategy into action and maintain safe kitchen practices.
• The Commercial Reality: protect gross profit and keep paperwork up to date for monthly stock take.
