Job summary

Village Maidstone is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef and Kitchen Team Leader to own your section and guide the brigade through busy services. You will ensure every plate meets our standards for quality, temperature and presentation.

You’ll drive food safety and brand delivery, supervise junior kitchen staff, manage stock to par levels, and keep paperwork up to date for stock takes, all while fostering a collaborative, energetic kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Attitude and energy matter more than CVs.
• Willingness to lead in a busy kitchen.
• Ability to follow HACCP and EHO guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a hands-on Sous Chef and run your own section.
• Ensure food safety and brand delivery, HACCP and EHO compliance.
• Supervise and coach junior kitchen team members and KPs.
• Manage stock to par levels and minimise wastage; keep stock-take paperwork up to date.
