Job summary

Amey Consulting is seeking a permanent Structures Engineer to join the Midlands team. The role is hybrid with shared Birmingham office space and regional applications welcomed.

You will lead a design team, own projects from quotation to handover, and drive safe, quality solutions across bridge and structure schemes. A Chartered path or progression toward one is desirable, with opportunities for development and professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structures engineering, with leadership on projects.
• Ability to produce and check deliverables meeting quality, cost and schedule criteria.
• Knowledge of CDM and risk assessment practices.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and manage interfaces between disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team on structures schemes within the design group.
• Own projects from quotation through to handover and delivery.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and scheme documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and ensure safety practices.
