Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Engineer (Bridges) to join its Consulting Structures Team in the Midlands, with a hybrid working pattern and offices in Nottingham, Birmingham and Telford. You will lead on Bridges/Highways structures projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient design solutions across the programme.

You will manage bids, coordinate with design teams, ensure CDM compliance, and drive safety and quality throughout the project

Qualifications

• Developed experience in Bridges/Highways structures.
• Ability to produce and check deliverables to standards.
• Proficient with structural analysis software (LUSAS, Autodesk SBD).
• Strong risk assessment and CDM knowledge.
• Experience leading a small technical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to produce technically sound structural solutions.
• Own and lead projects from quotation to handover.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Engage with client and supplier representatives at progress meetings.
• Ensure health and safety practices within the team.
