Job summary

Amey is recruiting a permanent Structures Engineer to join the Consulting Structures Team in Stafford on a hybrid basis. You will work with Senior Engineers on a range of bridges and structures projects across the Midlands region, delivering design deliverables and supporting junior staff.

The role requires a degree in a relevant subject, experience in structures, knowledge of standards (DMRB/Eurocodes), software skills (LUSAS, ABDD), and strong communication with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
• Experience in the structures field, likely at Assistant Engineer level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of technical standards (DMRB, Eurocodes) and best practice guidance.

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions for structures schemes.
• Taking ownership of delivery from start to finish with Senior Engineers.
• Preparing designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of scheme deliverables.
• Guiding and mentoring junior staff on tasks and development.
• Engaging with clients and suppliers and attending progress meetings.
