Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Engineer (Bridges) based in the Nottingham area for a permanent, hybrid role. You will lead a structures team, deliver end-to-end design solutions for major renewals programmes, and collaborate with clients and suppliers to drive successful outcomes.

The role requires strong bridges expertise, ownership of deliverables, and a focus on safety and quality. Flexible hybrid working with shared offices in Nottingham, Birmingham and Telford is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in Bridges/Highways Structures field.
• Ability to oversee the production of technically sound designs.
• Understanding of CDM and risk assessment.
• Experience in team leadership and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to produce technically sound engineering solutions.
• Own and lead projects from quotation to handover.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Oversee junior staff and mentor them.
• Contribute to bids and work-winning activities.
• Drive health and safety practices within the team.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level.
