Job Title : Laser Operator

Contract Type : Temp to Perm

Working Pattern : Full Time (Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4 : 30pm)

Location : Gillingham

Pay Rate : £14.17 per hour

Join our client's manufacturing team in Gillingham as a Laser Operator, where your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional quality across every component produced.

The Role

Working Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4 : 30pm, you'll play a vital role in transforming sheet materials into expertly cut and assembled parts using Fibre Laser Cutting Machines.

Main Duties
  • Operate Fibre Laser Cutting Machines with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Program, set, and conduct quality checks on all laser cutting tasks.
  • Assemble fabricated parts using hand tools for in-line duct-mounted equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Maintain high standards of safety and product quality at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Supervisor and Team Leader to support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You

You’ll bring a blend of technical expertise and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to your work.

Essential
  • Experience in laser cutting (experience with Bodor or Bystronic equipment advantageous).
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in your work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
Desirable
  • Forklift Truck licence (required).
  • Experience in fabrication or workshop environments.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (training can be provided).
