Land Buyer - Residential Developer based in Sittingbourne, covering Essex & London. Base salary £75,000 + Car Allowance.

Are you an experienced Land Buyer with a strong track record in identifying and acquiring residential development opportunities? Do you have valuable connections with Housing Associations across Essex and London?

Hill McGlynn is proud to be working in partnership with a highly regarded residential developer who is looking to appoint a Land Buyer to join their dynamic and growing team, based out of their Sittingbourne office.

Role

As a Land Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the continued growth of the business by sourcing and securing land opportunities suitable for residential development. You will focus on key target areas across Essex and London, identifying both on- and off-market sites, assessing viability, and negotiating acquisitions.

You'll be supported by an experienced senior team and be given the autonomy to build and manage a successful land pipeline. This role is ideal for a motivated land professional who thrives on deal-making and has an established network in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, appraise, and secure residential land opportunities across Essex and London
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, promoters, and housing associations
  • Manage the acquisition process from initial identification through to completion
  • Prepare financial appraisals and feasibility studies to support land offers
  • Negotiate heads of terms and support legal processes for acquisition
  • Collaborate closely with the planning, technical, and commercial teams
Experience & Background
  • Proven experience in a land acquisition role within the residential development sector
  • A strong network of contacts in Essex and/or London, including Housing Associations (highly advantageous)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of the UK planning system and development process
  • Self-motivated, commercially astute, and target-driven
