Job Description

We're looking for a Level 3 Technician to join our Industry Services team in Barnoldswick. This role is ideal for someone with a science or engineering background who's passionate about laboratory work, chemical analysis, and metallurgy. You'll play a key role in quality control, process improvement, and supporting manufacturing investigations.

Required skills and experience:
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Degree or HND in science / engineering preferred
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment preferably metallurgy related would be beneficial.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be liaising with laboratory supervisor and analytical team to ensure testing commitments are met, alongside routine contact with clients to discuss work, turnaround requirements and technical issues related to work. The role also encompasses the preparation of metallurgical specimens and the optical microscopy of components and test pieces to support manufacturing quality control and investigations.

Key activities:
  • Sampling and testing of process tank solutions to maintain client specified tolerances
  • Prepare samples and carry out metallurgical assessments against client specifications using optical microscopy.
  • Supervision of bulk chemical deliveries for our client
  • Manage personal workloads to ensure KPI turnaround time targets are maintained.
  • Carry out routine laboratory quality control checks and maintain logs.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard.
