Job description

Academics is recruiting a committed and enthusiastic KS2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Barry from January 2026. This is a full time temporary role and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive school community that values high quality teaching and positive relationships with pupils.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across KS2, support pupils' academic progress and promote a positive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Planning and delivering high quality lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum
  • Assessing and monitoring pupils' progress and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and colleagues across the school
  • Maintaining strong communication with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
Minimum Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting, ideally KS2
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and a collaborative approach
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • EWC registration (or willingness to register)
